Hybrid Systems

Combi parallel hybrid boat motor systems are suitable for almost any situation where a propeller shaft line is installed. The motor is equipped with a mounting system for fixed installation.

Installation
The base for this must be provided by the customer/shipyard. This includes the timing belt and pulley between the gearbox and the shaft/flexible coupling. The size of this timing belt pulley is determined by the diesel engine’s shaft RPM, as the propeller is adjusted accordingly.

Operating Principle
During electric drive, the diesel engine should be disengaged. While cruising with the diesel engine, the motor acts as a generator to charge the battery set. It is set to stop charging once the batteries are full.

Batteries
It is important to specify which batteries are used in connection with the renewal menu setting. Lithium batteries are preferred because they are suitable for intermediate charging. Other deep cycle batteries are also suitable if sufficiently discharged before charging. If you use only electricity in this system, an additional charger can be used for conditioning and charging the batteries.

Cooling System
For liquid-cooled models, the electric motor’s cooling system is separate from the diesel engine’s cooling system.

Technical Specifications

Dimensional drawings are available for all Combi motors.

Each motor comes with a separate control box, which must be mounted close to the motor within 1 meter. The units are plug-and-play. Each motor is provided with a gear slot and a tensioning system for the timing belt on the motor shaft.

Available Power Options:

48 VDC
3.5 kW AC Air-Cooled
6.0 kW AC Liquid-Cooled
10 kW AC Liquid-Cooled

Yanmar Hybrid

Our specially developed hybrid engine is very compact and can be used in many situations. This also applies to the Cooper 800 Hybrid.
All Cooper models can be equipped with our Combi Hybrid; this small compact engine provides whisper-quiet cruising in the channels. When you reach open water, the diesel engine kicks back in so you can enjoy the fresh air.

Vetus Hybrid

Our specially developed hybrid engine is very compact and can be used in many situations. This also applies to the Stormer Tug 60 Hybrid.
All Stormer models can be equipped with our Combi Hybrid; this small compact engine provides whisper-quiet operation between channels. You also have all the advantages of a diesel engine when you want to gain some speed.
